Swimming

The greatest success in the history of Croatian swimming was Đurđica Bjedov, a member of Split swimming club “Mornar”, when she won golden and silver medal on 100 and 200 metres breast-stroke on the Olympics in Mexico in 1968.

Veljko Rogošić as a member of club “Jadran”, is a multiple recorder and the winner of several Mediterranean Games’ medals in free style disciplines. He also dedicated himself to the marathon swimming with great success. After many accomplishments he proved that age doesn’t mean a thing. Namely, when he was 63 he swam across La Manche and doing so he became the oldest sportsman who swam 32 kilometres.
