According to many the best Croatian basketball player of all times is the player from Split, Toni Kukoč. At the moment he is at the end of his rich career in this sport. What is interesting is that he is still actively playing in the NBA league although he is in the second part of his thirties. After the brilliant days in Split’s club “Jugoplastika” with which he conquered Europe three times, the series of trophies and the title of the best player on the World Championship in 1990 and two excellent seasons in Italian club “Benetton” he went to the legendary “Chicago Bulls” in the middle of 90’s.

At that time, with three won titles the most famous dynasty of the NBA was born on the American parquets, and Toni Kukoč excelled as the key player side by side with Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman. After that golden age and the leaving of these players Toni Kukoč became the best player of the Bulls. He continued his career with contracts with Atlanta Hawks, Sixers and at last Milwaukee Bucks.

We should also add to this biography and brilliant career the Olympic silvers from Seoul and Barcelona, and the title of the sixth best NBA player in 1996. Apart from basketball, he can’t do without; he tried out in his youth (also) with success football and table tennis. The new passion towards a slower tempo sport which requires still and precise hand has awoken his second sport love towards golf. Who knows, if golf becomes the Olympic game (what is more than certain) maybe Toni will get another more Olympic medal under the Croatian flag.
